When you say the dash brings up a blank page, I’m not sure if you’re seeing nothing but a blank page or a menu with blank underneath.
If it’s a total blank page, it could be a plugin issue. (You didn’t say if you installed Pluings…)
Yea I have the menu dash still but not any options for making a page or managing a page. I have some plugins installed: AuthImage, flickrRSS, Gravatars, Livejournal Crossposter, Recent Comments, Share This, Subscribe to comments, Tiger Style Admin (same problem before tiger plugin was installed), WP-PageNavi, WP-PostRatings
I don’t think it’s the Tiger Style Admin plugin as it was installed after the issue started.
I just deactivated all my plugins and I still could not edit or create a page.
A theme could affect the dashboard if it has bad code in its functions.php file.
I will contact the theme’s author, and try disabling the theme. Thanks
Deactivated the theme for the default theme and still had the same problem… Now I’m scared.
I am still lost, it cannot be the theme or any of my plugins because it still persists after all of those are disabled.
Recently in a similar case the problem was caused by a functions.php file uploaded in the wrong place (i.e. not into its theme folder) – so I’d check if there are any “stray” files in the admin or content directories…
Well my theme folder has it’s functions.php and the admin folder has it’s admin-functions.php and they look completely fine when I compare them with a fresh install. Maybe I should setup a guest ftp account so it would be easier for you guys to determine the problem? Let me know if that sounds like a better solution and I will provide the account. Thanks
I fixed a php error in my error.log that referred to the index.php in my theme get_sidebar() needed a “;” at the end, but it did not fix my problem. I am wondering if I need to just start over from scratch. Anyone still want to lend their expertise?
I am still stuck and do not know what I am doing wrong?
I am having the exact same issue. I have even gone as far as to delete and reinstall WordPress 2.2.2 from scratch, but no good. With zero plugins, and zero themes, I cannot create a new page.
With me, the problem is slightly different, but the result is the same: I go through the process of creating a page, and no matter what button I hit (save and continue, save, publish, whatever), the page immediately gets saved as a Draft Post. (Not a draft page, if such a thing exists, but a draft post).
I’d love a resolution to this.
For what it’s worth, I had also installed DezinerFolio, which is how I stumbled across this post, googling for help. But I didn’t install DezinerFolio when I re-uploaded the whole WordPress install again.
