    Can the Hero Theme be used on containers of content rather than images? I want to slide divs with a background color and have the “hero” item in focus on top of the others behind it.

    Yes, that should work. I’m not 100% clear on what you need here, but there’s a slide type called Custom HTML Slides where you can enter your own HTML and CSS.
