• Hi. Right now I have a download button essentially that opens up a PDF which is how I want it to operate. The problem I’m having however is that the entire file structure is displayed in the URL which normally wouldn’t be a problem but I set up my website so that there is an additional directory where my files are stored to help with security.

I’m wondering if there is any way of masking the URL in any way whether it be through some sort of edit or plugin? I don’t really know where to look honestly.

Any helps is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

  • It sounds like you may want to look into using a plugin that can generate unique download URLs for each user, such as Woocommerce or Easy Digital Downloads or similar.

Alternately, this plugin looks as though it may work for your needs, although I have no experience with it myself.
