I’ve been using this plugin for years and have really appreciated all the updates and features you’ve added—especially the support for Bibliocommons RSS feeds. It’s been a fantastic tool.

I was wondering if it might be possible to add an option to hide items from the carousel when they don’t have cover images.

Where I see Syndetics fail to supply a cover image is mostly from Hoopla titles which display directly on many Bibliocommon hosted sites. I don’t know if a fallback could be added to look for the title using the ISBN number. It looks like they host a pretty universal URL for all the cover art. Example: https://cover.hoopladigital.com/hpc_9780063251991_270.jpeg

Keep up the great work and thank you for considering this feature!

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment, and the suggestion!

With some cover image providers I am able to detect a missing or placeholder image and remove or replace it. Thus far, I have not found a reliable means to do so with Syndetics.

If it is not too onerous you may try this:
Once you have populated a Bookshelf with items from your RSS feed, switch back to the list editor and try an alternate ISBN for items missing images.

Thanks for the suggestion, that’s a handy work around for sure! I’ll be do that moving forward.

I did notice that in the RSS feed from Bibliocommons, when there’s not image, there’s only a “<image_url/>” tag and not a “<image_url> …. </image_url>” set of tags.

I don’t know if that’s something you could use to not show a title.
