• So my posts have pull quote boxes at the top for post excerpt previews for users. However, on my main page where post previews occur, it shows the pull quote (without formatting) so the post preview reads weird because the pull quote is from the body of the post. Is there any way to hide that from the post previews?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It looks like you’re relying upon the auto-excerpt feature for post previews, which strips all HTML from content. It’s the only way WP can get an accurate word count to limit how long of an excerpt to show.

If you use the explicit excerpt field to define what content you want in a preview, it should be used in place of the auto-excerpt (theme dependent). In the explicit excerpt you can include HTML since no word count is necessary. In some cases this field is hidden by default. You can enable visibility through the screen preferences (use the 3 dot icon if you use the block editor). In the preferences dialog, you want the “Panels” side tab. Switch on the “Excerpt” setting there. The excerpt field will appear in the post settings sidebar, towards the bottom.

Typically the explicit excerpt would be the initial text for the post, but in fact you can place any content you like there. It could be totally unrelated to the post if you really wanted it to be.
