I have a site where I want a simple documents page. I don’t want every addition to show up as a post on the main feed. So I use the ‘hide posts’ checkbox in settings.

The problem is that with Hide Posts set… my current documents are hidden, but adding any NEW documents will create a new post that is NOT hidden. It shows up in my main feed (uncategorized). In settings ‘hide all posts’ is still checked.

To work around this and get the new posts to be hidden, after I upload new documents, I have to go to settings, UN-check ‘hide all posts’ and save settings… .THEN re-check the ‘hide all posts’ and save settings. Now going back to the front page and they’re gone. Seems that once the ‘hide all posts’ is checked, future posts should be affected as well without having to refresh the setting manually.

Another workaround might be that I change the site via php or a plugin to exclude any post that is “uncategorized” and not use the settings for this, but I thought you might look at it.
