My website is mostly for the purpose of teaching, and several pages and hundreds of posts. It is not a blog, so I put in links to every post individually. Because of that I don’t use categories at all. I think all my posts are in “uncategorized,” and I don’t mind that.

But I don’t want the little note at the bottom “published in uncategorized.” Years ago I found a way to hide that note (I think in CSS) but recently I migrated to a new hosting and now that is appearing again.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the “published in….” note at the bottom of every post?

I see what you mean on the home page. Only the category is hidden there, not the entire text. If you want to hide the entire text, you could use this CSS:
```
body .cat-links { display: none }
```
Alternatively, you would need to contact your theme’s support team: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/theme/siteorigin-north/

This shouldn’t have anything to do with your hosting, as that doesn’t affect styles.

Thanks, that was helpful. At some point as I was working on it I blocked the category, as you said, and now it is all gone!

Second question: now I’m seeing a list of steps under the title, showing what the post is nested under. For example “Home-post1-post2.”

Do you know how to get rid of that?

The breadcrumbs provided by the Yoast plugin you are using. It should be sufficient to deactivate this function in the plugin. See: https://yoast.com/features/breadcrumbs/
