    Hey there,

since updating to the newest versions of WP and SEO Ultimate, my admin bar shows me the SEO entry. That wouldn’t be that bad BUT: Due to the fact that I use BuddyPress, i have a permanent admin bar (to make it possible for users to register and login, independent from regular WP reg/login), and even for non-logged-in users, the SEO entry with all its subentries is visible to everyone.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    That modification was deliberate.

The SEO modules on admin bar were added for enhanced usability and workflow to prevent you from having to go into the dashboard, then to the module itself.

We designed this for individual installs and not buddypress, so, not sure what to say on this one.

    Hi Jeffrey,

well, I’m sure that BuddyPress is just one example of many because it will affect any WP site which uses plugins etc that show the admin bar to non-logged-in users as well.

So, in future releases it may be better to show that SEO entry in the admin bar just to a) logged in users with b) admin user level

Anyway, is there a possibility to hide the SEO item in the adminbar somehow (by pasting or deleting some code somewhere)? That would be awesome.

    @electrosmog:

Okay. New version uploaded with changes made based on your request (that only show for admin or superadmin).

Please test and if all is satisfactory, then close this ticket.

    All the best,

    Hey Jeffrey,

    just updated the plugin.

    Still no solution. πŸ™

I’ve already cleared cache and everything, but here it still shows me the SEO entry in the admin bar when not logged in:

    http://www.booknerds.de/

Tried it with other browsers and other devices. Same thing everywhere.

Pretty confusing for users which want to join our community. πŸ˜‰

I think a toggle option (“Show SEO Ultimate in Admin bar?”) would be the best solution.

Best Regards and thanks for your effort

Did you get my email Chris?

    Also, are caches cleared?

    (@electrosmog)

    No email received yet.

I don’t use any cache plugin because I use leverage browser caching via .htaccess πŸ˜‰

EDIT: Checked my emails several times but still nothing. Maybe you mistyped my mail address?

New version 7.6.5.4 uploaded with fix as well as in Settings > SEO Ultimate > there is on / off toggle for disabling SEO in admin toolbar entirely.

    Best,

    Jeffrey

If resolved on your end, please close thread.
