Is it no longer possible to hide the title of a specific page using the options for the Blocksy theme? I don’t want to hide all page titles, just this one, but when I try to turn it off it gives me a json error. I’m sure I used to be able to do this, although probably I was using a different theme.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I’m going to try to hide it with CSS now, so if you visit the above page I might have fixed it, but not using the Blocksy options.

    Hey @ksmithcamp

Can you post a screenshot with the console dev tool opened from the editor pane after pushing save on the editor? This might shed some light on what’s happening.

    Thanks.

has a screen shot of what happens when I go to Blocksy => Title => custom and try to turn off title, then hit update.

This is a Blocksy problem. It works as expected in Astra. They are so similar that I might go back to Astra, although in general I find Blocksy easier to work with.

Is there a way to upload a screen shot to this forum or do I have to put it on my site and link to it, as I have done?

    Hello @ksmithcamp

No, unfortunately there’s no way of uploading images here. And unfortunately, the picture you’ve sent us isn’t telling us anything. Are you able to open the browser developer console (right click, inspect element, go to console) and give us a screenshot of that when you’re on that page after trying to save?

    Thanks.

OK, I put that at the same page https://lirworkshop.dreamhosters.com/hide-title-problem/. Thank you for the instructions. I am a not a professional web site developer! This page means nothing to me but maybe it is useful to others.

Maybe Blocksy is just too buggy. This is the second bug I have found. I would welcome your opinion on whether Astra, which has been around a long time, is better, or something else.

    Hey @ksmithcamp

So, we’ve just tested this and it works just fine on our end — https://d.pr/v/5HRMs4

Can you please try one more thing? Can you try doing this with the plug-ins disabled? This could shed some light if you have something enabled that’s restricting the REST API.

    Thanks!

This is such a beginning site (I’m using it to teach some other people how to use WordPress, a case of the near-blind leading the blind perhaps), that at the moment I have only one activated plug-in, User Role Editor. I deactivated it (it is certainly one that need not be activated most of the time) but it made no difference.

It certainly seems to work fine for you. I am mystified.

    Hello @ksmithcamp,
Well, that’s really weird, could you please try one more thing.

Please install this plugin and make a backup of your website.

Once the backup will finish, click on “Download” and download the zip files.

After that, upload the zip files to DropBox or Google Drive and send us an email at [email protected] with the download link to those zip files.

This way we will be able to investigate your setup and see if something is wrong with your install.

    Waiting an email from you.
