Hide Track Numbers

I am referring to an older post from about 9 years ago.

I would like to remove the track number of the player for single tracks. The following code was given for this purpose, but unfortunately it (no longer) works:

.track:before {
content: ”;
}

Presumably something has changed after such a long time? Is there an adapted code that I can use for the current plugin (version 1.4.4)?

Prepending the album tag is not helpful, because although the numbering is properly ascending, I don’t want any numbering.
