Hi, sorry to ask this question again, I am sure you have been asked this one many times over the years and I ask it only to finally get a clear answer as I get more and more confused by all the different “professional” opinions:

Should I hide the wp-admin login yes or no?

On most Youtube channels and even doing a Google search I always read ” Do not keep the wp-admin login, hide it or change it”.

I am confused because even security providers such as Wordfence say that we users should not hide or change teh wp-admin login page (I watched a Wordfence CEO video where he clearly says it).

So if I may, what is Solid Securitys stance on this topic?

Would you recommend to hide the wp-admin login page? Do you think it makes a difference? Yes or no?

    Thanks 😉

  • Hi @chrishechler,

I recommend reading (if not already) the Solid Security Hide Backend article from the Solid Help Center.

Hi @chrishechler, great to see you taking proactive steps to secure your site!

Although Solid Security offers hiding the wp-admin login as a security feature, it is the least effective of the security features we offer as it is using the “security by obscurity” method. Instead, we recommend using our other security features such as enforcing strong passwords, implementing two-factor authentication, setting up firewall rules, using CAPTCHA, and more. The article shared by @nlpro will be the best way to know our stance on hiding the wp-admin login, which can be found in the bottom section.

    I hope this helps!
