    Hello,

I’ve noticed that after activating the Converter for Media – Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF plugin on all of my WordPress sites (about 10 sites, each with around 300 visitors per day), the server CPU load progressively increases and becomes very high, reaching around 1500%.

When I deactivate the plugin on all sites, the CPU load drops drastically to about 500%.

The load increase seems to be progressive with every request, suggesting some kind of resource leak or inefficient processing in the plugin.

Could you please investigate this issue? It’s causing significant performance degradation on multiple sites.

    Thank you!

    Hi @marinow1991,

    Thank you for your message.

Tell me please, what did you do after activating the plugin? Did you change any plugin settings or run the bulk image optimization process? This is a very important.

    Best,
    Mateusz

    Hi Mateusz,

    Thank you for your reply.

I haven’t changed absolutely any settings in the plugin. I just started disabling the plugin gradually on the sites, keeping each disabled for about 10 minutes, and I noticed the CPU load started dropping immediately. Then, I began re-enabling the plugin step-by-step, but the load did not rise again. It’s like some process gets stuck or blocked.

If it matters, I am using the PRO version of the plugin, and all images are in AVIF format.

In the screenshot below, you can see a green line on the graph which marks the start of disabling the plugins.

By the way, now that I think about it, I had the same issue about a month ago, but back then I had fewer sites and the load wasn’t so heavy.

I hope this helps clarify the situation. Please let me know if you need any more info.

    Best regards.

@marinow1991 Your issue concerns the PRO version of the plugin, so I can’t help you there. I can only help with the free version on this forum. Those are the forum rules. I hope you understand.

Please contact me directly via email: hello(at)mattplugins.com. I’ll do my best to help.
