We have a problem with the high resource usage on the site. Fastcomet’s support responded as follows:

“I reviewed your account and, in particular, Awstats for circeplatform.com and noticed that a lot of hits with an HTTP status code of 508 are present as shown here:

    https://i.imgur.com/eGSuJnx.png

It seems these loop requests are caused by the 146.255.245.10 IP address, which is triggering the Wordfence firewall plugin you are using on the website. Here is an example:

    146.255.245.10 – – [23/May/2025:06:59:03 +0200] “GET /?wordfence_lh=1&hid=81B514F6F1C9D2CE9C16A3F90ADAC9E7&r=0.5732152102916475 HTTP/1.1” 508 5609 “https://circeplatform.com/ka/%E1%83%A8%E1%83%A0%E1%83%9D%E1%83%A8%E1%83%90%E1%83%9C%E1%83%98/” “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; K) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/136.0.0.0 Mobile Safari/537.36”

The “HTTP/1.1″ 508″ part of the request confirms this is, in fact, an HTTP 1.1 protocol status code 508. With that in mind, I would advise you to review the Wordfence plugin and check if it is blocking this specific IP or if there is any other information in the dashboard. If you are using this IP, I would recommend whitelisting it in Wordfence.”

Do you have any recommendations on how to solve this problem?

    Thanks.

Actually, this IP is from my country, but this is not my IP and I am only administrator for this site.

    Hi @merkucio,

If your host is in your country also (which that IP resolves to), they may be requesting that this IP is allowlisted in Wordfence because the 508 loop is happening on a load balancer, proxy, or server owned by them. That may cause the kind of problems you’re describing. In cases such as that, it may be necessary to change “How does Wordfence get IPs” or specify a trusted proxy in Wordfence > All Options (scroll down slightly from this link): https://www.wordfence.com/help/dashboard/options/#general-wordfence-options

It is generally not recommended to add an IP to Wordfence > All Options > Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules unless absolutely necessary – but some customers have had to implement this for an IP on their host so could be the case for you too: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/options/#whitelisted-ips

Let us know if you run into any problems,
    Peter.

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. My hosting is Fastcomet.com. And their advice was to add this IP 146.255.245.10 in the blacklist. And I did that.

So, what can you advice in this case?

By the way, could this be Cloudflare’s IP address since I’m using their free service and they recently launched their server in my country?

And what to do with this IP in this case?

Right now your plugin shows my IP in the option How does Wordfence get IPs.
