High WordPress CPU Usage on Shared Host

    I have a blog http://www.cnx-software.com and my hosting provider recently complained about my blog CPU usage.

    I had already installed W3 total cache a few months and I recently enabled CloudFlare. The CPU usage complains happened right at this time, but I doubt it’s related. I also went to phpmyadmin to run a database optimization after the first complain, but it did not help.

    Here are the plugins I use for the blog:

    I’m running out of ideas to improve CPU usage and would appreciate if someone would have some other ideas.

    This time the log is more understandable to me, as I can see index.php using 73% CPU for 0.65 second.

    However, I still don’t really know how to improve that.
    Since last time, I’ve just installed another translator plugin: Ben’s Translator, a clone of Global Translator.

    Cloudflare reports that the blog gets 5000 to 7000 page views a day, yesterday It reports over 13,000 page views. Would that be a problem on a shared hosting ?

    Evei I am facing the same issue. index.php for all my sites is taking up massive CPU.

    Any Solutions?

    I installed “W3 total cache”, but it was not working properly (pgcache directory empty), I disabled “WP HTTP Compression” plugin to make the plugin work currently. Now all (non-logged-in) users retrieve the cached page (HTML) instead of using PHP.

    For now, it seems to be OK. My provider has not blocked me even when I had a traffic surge.
