Highlight active navigation item

    Hi,

    I would like to highlight the active navigation item simply by changing the font color.
    I have tried to change the color by modifying

    .current-menu-item {
    color: #ffc928;
}

    in my child-theme’s style.css. But unfortunately this does not work.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
