highlighting menu and sub menu

I have created a menu and assigned it as primary menu, and created another menu named ‘About menu’,also created a new page template called ‘about template’.The pages in ‘about menu’ has template ‘about template’. To display ‘About menu’ I used ‘custom menu’ widget in a new sidebar set it to ‘about menu’.The primary menu should be highligted if i click ‘About’ which is working till now but when i click on any item from ‘about menu’, say ‘About One’ the selection from ‘About’ disappears.What i want is to have ‘About One’ selected (Added in sidebar widget)and also ‘About’ in primary menu to be selected.
