Homepage Description Issues

    Our listing on Google is showing H1 or H2 tags as the description despite everything being setup in AIOSEO with a custom description.

    The page under General specifies using the Excerpt. In WP>All Pages we typed in the same custom description as well.

    All the previews in AIOSEO show our intended description.

    Why is Google overriding our setup? Are there any other settings we can check?

    Hi @sdagency,

    Google doesn’t have to use the SEO title and description you provide and never has.

    They take what you provide as a suggestion and will return what they think is the best, most relevant title and description based on the term that’s being searched for. This process is completely automated and you can’t force them to display the title and description you want.
