    Hello all,

I have a quick question about accomplishing something on MH Theme’s live demo for Magazine lite:

I am using the tagged posts widget on my homepage, but I can’t get them to appear in the same way as they do on the demo’s homepage. I want them to have the red underline title (h4) and have the posts themselves appear as left justified — right now they’ve got H3 titles and the posts are listed almost as indented lists, with a huge white space on the right-hand-side. Also, the demo doesn’t feature the author’s name. How can that be accomplished? Could anyone point me to any tutorial which might exist on how to make my tagged posts widgets look just like the ones on the demo’s homepage?

    Thank you.

    BJG

    Hi Brian,

thanks for using MH Magazine lite.

If you want to have a front page as shown in the theme demo, then you first need to create and set a static front page, select the Homepage template for your static front page and then you can place the widgets into the Home areas as you like. You could for example place the widgets like this:

    • Home 2: MH Slider [lite] or MH Posts Large [lite] widget
    • Home 3: 2 x MH Custom Posts [lite] widgets
    • Home 4: 2 x MH Custom Posts [lite] widgets
    • Home 6: MH Custom Posts [lite] widget
    • Home 6: MH Tabbed [lite] widget

    Dear MH Themes,

Thank you for your kind reply.

Yes, I have done this. I have the widgets set up in the way that I want them to appear. The only problem, however, is that they aren’t styled in the same way as they are on your theme demo. On your demo, the widget titles are in the h4 (with a red underline) style, whereas mine are just plain h3 or h4 titles. Also, your posts listed under the widget tag titles appear as perfectly left justified, whereas mine are indented to the right-hand-side, creating a white space gap on the left-hand-side. Should these widgets be automatically styled exactly as they appear on your homepage, or is there some extra styling that needs to be done?

    Thank you.

Sorry, but unfortunately that doesn’t make sense. If you’ve configured everything correctly and placed the widgets, then the styling will be like in the demo.

Please provide your URL so that we can see what you have there, thanks!

One more question, is there any way to have the 2/3 widget appear on the right-hand-side and the 1/3 widget on the left-hand-side? I want my posts slider on the right, not the left. It appears as the default layout imposes this organization on me. Am I mistaken?

    Thank you.

That would only be possible if you in general move the sidebar to the right. There is an option for that located in your WordPress dashboard under Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Layout => Position of default sidebar.
