    I was toying with Headline Analyzer two years ago and found the CoSchedule software far too limiting rather than being persuaded to update to a paid plan.

    So I left it.

    Just received an email from CoSchedule to say that they’d now got an official WordPress plugin, so I brushed the cobwebs off my old account and gave it a go – for five minutes.

    On installing, all of the font weights changed, it deleted the Yoast slug and made their little purple pilis impossible to read, and like before – 80% of the plugin needed to be upgraded to a paid plan before it worked.

    Those upgrading to a paid plan will find that they can work on FIVE headlines before they need to upgrade again.

    This all includes of course wiping out Yoast SEO and replacing it with headline analyzer.

    All rather patronising really (according to the content in their emails) and it leaves me wondering where ‘Patronising Words’ is, in their words boxes.

    The plugin was deleted, and the website has returned to normal.

Our developers discovered the bug causing the font style issues, and I’m glad to say they’ve pushed a fix. Be sure to install any plugin updates, and then do a hard refresh of your browser window by holding down Cmd+Shfit+R (Mac) or Ctrl+F5 (Windows). Everything should work as expected after that, but if not, please let us know!

    Additionally, our developers were unable to reproduce the behavior you described with the Yoast slug.     Thanks for the offer, but I won’t be continuing.

    Off the top of my head, there are at least three free headline analyzers out there, complete with word boxes, none of which tie you up to a paid plan in order to use them.

    Ok, none of them has WordPress plugins and the headlines need to be created manually off-site, but for a writer like myself, posting around 20-30 posts per month, a saving of $360 to $500 dollars a year is pretty significant.
