Horrid, bloated plugin
-
When in Development Mode, you can’t enable any modules. When not in Development Mode, you can’t enable any modules if you haven’t connected to WordPress.com, even modules that don’t require WordPress.com connection.
For client sites, it’s so annoying, expecting them to create a completely separate WordPress.com account just so that they can connect one plugin. It’s ridiculous! Not only that, it constantly disconnects itself, which is even more annoying.
This is by far one of the worst plugins to come to the WordPress eco system, and at over 17Mb’s in size, it’s an absolute joke. It’s disappointing to see Automattic constantly pushing this bloated piece of crap.
It should be split into two different versions. A lite version for all the modules that don’t require .com connection and a pro version for the rest. Not only would it reduce the size, it would give the majority of users most of the modules that they actually want, without being forced to connect your site to WordPress.com.
It’s just a pity that I can’t give this Zero stars instead of One star.
