Hi
What smtp service do you use ?
Hello,
Thank you for your response we do use Gmail,g suite
Can you paste here the full transcript ?
You can get it from the email log.
‘207.148.0.241.vultr.com’ does not match the expected structure for a DNS hostname
No, go the email log and hover the last failed email and click on show transcript.
Copy everything
smtp:tls:oauth2://smtp.gmail.com:587
That’s all I can find in the transcript.
All connectivity test run OK; tried port 465 and same problem.
smtps:oauth2://smtp.gmail.com:465
Hi
sorry for the delay, I had to get a vultr server 🙂
1. Press on the server row.
2. on the upper menu select “settings”
3. on the “Reverse DNS” column press the pen icon and replace the text with the domain name your hosting or any valid domain like clients.mywebsite.com
You will need to wait a bit so the DNS change will take effect.
What happen?
In the last version, I had to change the mail ID from an IP to hostname for a better compatibility with spam filters and the RFC rules.
Vultr giving some kind of a fake record in each server creation and the user needs to change it manually.
Please update me.
