Hi alexanderweb.
If you’re moving your website from one host to another, you’ll basically need to move the content of /wp-content/ folder and your database.
You can do it manually or using a plugin. This might be useful – https://www.hostingadvice.com/how-to/how-to-move-a-wordpress-site/
Many thanks Sinip … I currently have shared hosting and prefer to stay with the present host but move out to a standalone or VPS server to improve performance etc.
Not sure if that can be down?
Thanks for the link.
If you’re asking whether a server can be down, well… any server can, given the (im)proper load. 🙂
And if both of those (shared and VPS) are in the same hosting company, I’m sure that they’ll be wiling to do the transfer themselves, if you’d ask them.
Thanks again Sinip … I am having problems getting the hosting company support to reply despite several tickets in their system. I am just trying to upgrade ad then see what options to move the one site out … will update shortly but thanks for the help
Hello Sinip… thanks for your help in this matter.
Finally had a reply from my hosting saying I have too many add on domains and that I should move the site in question to its own package, which I think makes sense. They said I was exceeding resources and I needed to improve resource management in my wp sites.
Is this resource management something I can do myself via a plugin?
Thanks again for your help
