Hostname For Plug-ins

    I just set up WordPress and am trying to download some plug-ins. When I click to install it asks for hostname. I’ve tried my Mysql hostname, my site hostname, my ftp hostname but it still says,”Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct.”

    Can anyone help me resolve this issue? I tried searching for an answer but haven’t found one. Thank you.

    I’ve search for a long time and have only found others having the same problem but no solutions. It must be a bug in the software. Can you try a older version? I have 2.7.

    I am having the issue and can’t upgrade to 2.9 – did you find a solution?!
