how 25mb is calculated

    If i want to compress and resize one 1600×1200 3mb photo. Would it calculate that as 3mb, or 5 different versions that would be created in actual wordpress site.

    What if i don’t want to process my biggest 1600×1200 version. Would that be calculated also?
