This plug-in allows a) to search and b) to sort your data tables. But how about filtering?

I would like to have dropdowns with all existing values per column to quickly filter the data by certain criterias. We know this from spreadsheet apps, and there is a nice approach to bring this feature to the web here: https://sites.google.com/site/scriptsexamples/available-web-apps/awesome-tables/documentation/basic-configuration/available-filters#TOC-CategoryFilter

Is that possible with this plug-in as well?

I think you’re looking for ColumnFilterWidgets, which is a third-party extension to DataTables. It’s not integrated into this plugin at this time, so you’ll need to add it yourself manually. Patches to this plugin, of course, are welcome.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that’s what I am looking for. Unfortunately I don’t have the technical expertise to add an extension manually (or to even create a patch), so I wait for a future version if this plug-in that will hopefully integrate ColumnFilterWidgets.
