So I just make myself a custom field for the post image, reference it in the right place in the theme php format the css in the right way and thats it? Then, I can just paste in the url for the right image in the custom field for every post I make and its as simple as that?

Hi, just coming to say I found the answer. Normally, custom fields are displayed as a list. To get more control over how your data is displayed, use the “get custom field values” plugin here:

Hola cacoe.
Look at this plugin. This is what I use :

My god! I just spent all day getting it to work with a custom field. Damn. I feel achievement, and I also feel a waste of time.
Hmm… is there any real advantage of using post-image now I have a custom field and layout set up?
