the one on the home page that says “about us” I would like to add text below that heading but I am unsure how to do it? also how do I make the website go live?

It appears that the part below the About us part is actually some kind of blog widget? This means that as you add posts it will populate itself.
Which theme are you using? Try to go to homepage editor and send a screenshot, maybe I could be of more help then.
As for the website going live: It’s already live since I can see it. There is no work in progress / coming soon page.
hi mrky007 thanks for the response. I am using onepage theme. yeah the “about us” is a blog widget but I am unsure how to populate the blank space below it that currently displays “sorry no posts matched your criteria”
ah I see, why does it not appear on a google search if I search the company name and location?

1. About us section
Try to replace this widget with something else like: Text widget or enhanced text widget. It will allow you to add ordinary text or html with pictures.
2. As for Google
It takes time for search engines to crawl through your website and add it to search results. On your end you can help yourself by adding content that best describes your services. You should also:
a) add SEO plugin. Yoast has a great one.
b) Create Google Webmaster tools account. That way you can send new content to Google faster (and also see which keywords will generate traffic for you)
Try to find some tutorials about SEO and local SEO, they will point you in the right direction.
thanks again mrky. Its Just going to be a basic website that once constructed wont really need updating regularly. As for the about us widget in the theme options where I can change the “about us” heading it says “To show your recent posts on home page you need to insert the feature image of the blog while publishing it.” but i don’t know what this means?

Just upload it somewhere and send the link to it. You can add it to your site and just send me the url of the image.
