• After upgrading our free version, the basic thumbnail gelleries ceased working. How do I tell if this was using the j-script function, which should still be working, or the Flash function, which was removed?

I’ve rolled back my version to way, way back and that hasn’t helped. The thumbnail images just appear as a stack. Will upgrading to the Plus verions help?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks….

@bingman67 – A link to the display where you are seeing the issue would likely be very helpful.

    Thanks!

Thanks so much for replying! Here’s a link to a typical gallery:

    http://chasengalleries.com/elaine-elinsky/

The thumbnails are now shown in a stack and if you click on one, the actual large image is displyed below the footer.

I would be happy to provide you with a login to the back end if that would help. This is pretty serious for us as we have 2182 images in 151 galleries.

I look forweard to yiour response. Thanks again….

@bingman67 – Although it appears everything is loading correctly I still suspect there is a conflict with another active plugin. Have you tried deactivating *all* plugins, temporarily switching to a default WordPress Twenty series theme, clearing *all* caches, then reactivating NextGEN Gallery only to see if the problem persists?

This is a bit tough in that this is an active site, but I will try these steps as soon as I can (hopefully tonight) and let you know.

    Thanks….

@bingman67 – Thank you. Please do let us know what you find.

You’re also welcome to send us a Bug Report (http://nextgen-gallery.com/ … please reference this topic) if you do not have any successes sorting this out.

Well, I think I found the conflict. I deactivated all of the plug-ins and switched to the built-in 2015 theme. When I reactivated the Next Gen Gallery plug-in, the galleries loaded properly.

I reactivated all of the plugins and the galleries still worked fine. But they won’t work on either the Frontier main theme or the Frontier child theme that we normally use.

Not sure what to do now. I would love to send a bug report with you guys, but my partner who actually found the plug-in doesn’t think he created an account so I can’t login to get to Help.

Can we open an account with you guys?

@bingman67 – My apologies, I did not write the full link to our Bug Reports form … please go here http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/

    Thanks!

Thanks for the correction! I will open a bug report unless this latest trouble shooting clue leads to a solution.

I created a test post and inserted a new test gallery I created and the gallery works fine. Here’s the link:

    http://chasengalleries.com/donald-carson-test/

I tried deleting a current gallery link, saving the post and then reinserting the same gallery and resaving, but that still doesn’t work.

So, there’s got to be something in the current gallery code that’s causing a conflict that’s not in the code of a newly created gallery. Could that possibly help your thinking on this?

I look forward to your reply and in the meantime, I’ll create a bug report. If buying an upgrade will help get support on this, we’ll certainly consider that. Anything to avoid having to re-create 152 galleries!…lol.

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to help us out on this. It is greatly appreciated!

Oops, I realize I told you two different things in my post; that I would wait on your reply before opening a bug report and also that I would do it in the meantime.

I will await your reply before opening the bug report. Sorry for the confusing post.

    Thanks again for you help….

@bingman67 – What are you doing to “re-insert” the same gallery? Are you using the same shortcode … or are you copying and pasting an <img> tag placeholder (which may not work in all cases).

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

PS: You’re still welcome to send us a Bug Report on this as well.

I’m using the green “Attach NEXTGen Gallery to Post” button in the Visual Editor interface and selecting the gallery from the list of existing galleries. Does that help?

I will open a bug report today.

    Many thanks,
