Hello @tjbsitedesign,
Could you please clarify why you decided to remove our plugin? Regarding this issue, unfortunately we have not encountered it before. I can assume that perhaps the cache on your site is preventing you from opening the list of installed plugins. Try clearing the entire cache on your site. If that doesn’t help, you can also remove the plugin via FTP:
- Log in to your Hosting Account.
- Locate the folder of your website.
- Delete the plugin folder “cleantalk-spam-protect” here:
- WORDPRESS_ROOT_FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/cleantalk-spam-protect
Did it help you?
I want to uninstall because I can not get to my other plugins etc.
If I delete via FTP, will this remove everything from my system? Any database entries?
I have cleared my Lightspeed cache and that has not effected it, it still shows the settings page when I click on Installed plugins.
I have removed the directory via FTP – I now have ..”/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=cleantalk”
This web address active saying “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”
This is a correct error, as the plugin no longer exists.
Are you able to view other sections of /wp-admin/?
Are you also redirected to the page /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=cleantalk when you go to “Installed Plugins”? If so, this is definitely some kind of cache in the backend of the site. You need to temporarily disable all caches you have: both plugins and server-level caches.
After deleting the plugin folder, all its data remained in the database. They can only be deleted by reinstalling the plugin and then correctly removing it from the list of plugins.
Did this information help?
