How does email notification work?

By default the Role assigned for Forum User is ‘Participant’.

When I enable Participant for Reply, who receives the updates?

All members under the role of Participant or Only the person who created the Forum Topic?

Hi, sorry for the delay. Notification is sent to all members of the selected roles by default, but you can hook into the ‘bbpress_notify_recipients_hidden_forum’ filter to massage or even replace the list of recipients.
