I tried out Plugin Load Filter, but as one user said on the first support thread listed, I could not get Plugin Load Filter to work. It wouldn’t save any settings. I tried it with one WordPress (Automattic) plugin installed on a fresh WordPress install. I also tried it with the version of WordPress it is said to work with. It didn’t work for me on WordPress 4.2.7 or the latest WordPress 4.4.2.

But overall in comparison, Plugin Load Filter looks more simplified for a more non-savvy user. I like the looks of it.

    But here are some comparisons…
Plugin Organizer does everything that Plugin Load Filter does so I will list what Plugin Load Filter doesn’t.

    Plugin Load Filter doesn’t:
    – Allow only Network Admins to control the Plugin’s Features
    – Work on WordPress Multi-sites
    – Work by a permalink filter
    – Have a Fuzzy Filter Feature
    – Have a Ignore URL Protocol Feature
    – Have an Auto Trailing Slash for urls Feature
    – Allow to change the order plugins are actually loaded
    – Have an option to specify the Mobile User Agents
    – Have a Plugin Group Feature

Also a few other things probably worth mentioning…
    – Plugin Organizer is confirmed to work with the latest WordPress version.
    – Plugin Organizer has been well supported for 4+ years
    – Plugin Organizer has 10k+ active installs with almost all reviews at 5 stars to help confirm that it works and is supported/well coded, and hopefully is less conflicting with other plugins, given it use already in various environments.
    – Plugin Organizer has support from the author and non authors (like myself) that have come together over time to help Jeff out.

But, I do find some UI inspiration for Plugin Organizer from the Plugin Load Filter plugin, that I believe we should take a look at. Be it that Jeff can find time, as this is volunteer work for him.

Because you I believe got Plugin Load Filter to work? Did you see anything you would want to have in Plugin Organizer? I couldn’t get it to work, so obviously I couldn’t be but so detailed, from the screenshots and plugin descriptions.

I haven’t tried Plugin Load Filter. Looks like Noahj gave a pretty good breakdown of it though.
