• Hi.

i have some questions only for understanding the plugin.

    1. if i install it the plugin search the theme and the plugins for translateble strings and i can translate it in the admin menu, right?

    2. if the theme or plugins updated and the author of them change strings, does the plugin recognize it and change it automatically? or leave it a “broke string”

thanks for answer and a nice day

    tom

    1. Yes. If the theme is compatible. See the beginners guide to understand how it works: https://localise.biz/help/wordpress/translate-plugin/beginners

    2. nothing happens automatically. if the theme developer changes the strings you will need to use the “sync” function to update any custom translation files you’ve saved.

    1. okay

    2. if i can check if their are changing with use the sycn option, this is okay. i i understand it right it’s so that if the theme have changed strings it will be displayed. what happend with older (not used strings) after an theme update will this displayed with a error message?

no errors will be displayed. just a summary of how many strings added and how many removed. Nothing will be saved until you click “save” though. Try it and you will see.

More info about syncing in the more technical overview: https://localise.biz/help/wordpress/translate-plugin/overview

    sorry for the addition question.

i install the plugin and it found the original theme translation in theme/observair/lang/

at the the setup i have only this two choices:

    – themes/observair/option-tree/languages
    – languages/themes/

i i setup the new language it have no effect and if i try to change the original po file it writes the translation in the same part where the orog. language of the theme is and so this have also no effect.

    what do ir wrong?

    I don’t follow your question.

Almost always when it doesn’t work, it’s just not compatible with your theme.
