How is this done??? not WordPress ??? :-(

    I’m wondering if I have to use something other than WordPress to get my archives to look like this:

    http://shiftinglight.com/daily/2006/07/

    Instead of text excerpts, there are thumbnails linked to the appropriate posts. Do I have to jump ship to Moveable Type to get this to work?? or is there WordPress Plugin or PHP Hack to get something similar??
