It will probably complete eventually depending on how long your server is set to timeout PHP processes.
If it isn’t completing, try to find any themes/plugins that are particularly bulky. Backup Buddy has caused trouble in the past as it stores zips on the server. I’ve updated the plugin to work around this specific issue but it could be something else with your configuration that is causing the problem.
Everything went really fast until it came to creating the zip file and cleaning up. The wheel was spinning all night and never finished. Not working?

I have a small site. Everything worked fine and quickly up to the Zip file creation step where the process hung. (The progress wheel stopped.) What do you suggest?
Can you check /wp-content/plugins/wp-backitup/backups/?
Did the plugin create a zip file? What does the zip contain? How large is it?

There are two complete backups in that folder but neither was made into a zip. The folders are not giving me size readings so I don’t know the overall size but, as I said, the site is small.
But as far as you can see the backups are complete? Do the directories contain a wp-content dir as well as a database.sql file etc?
Is there a way I can send you a screen grab of the directory?

I downloaded the plugin today and started my first backup but the Zipping backup directory… and Cleaning up… keep spinning for hours !!
Here is how it looks in wordpress :

How long is it supposed to take ??

The process times out after 15 minutes, so it shouldn’t take hours.
Did it ever complete? Are aware of any large files on your server in large number?

I have installed the plugin on my site and then hit the backup button
I am getting following:-
Status
Preparing to backup…Done
Backing-up database…Done
Backing-up /wp-content/…Done
Creating backup information file…Done
Zipping backup directory…Done
Cleaning up…Done
Backup file created successfully. You can download your backup file using the link above
But there is no link to download the zip file. When I have checked on ftp for zip folder then wp-content/plugins/wp-backitup/backups
folder are empty means plugin not creating the backup of the file.
I am using the WordPress 3.6 version.
I am really appreciate if you can get back me that what is happening there.
