Hi Ivan,
1. Well, that’s hard to answer. It should be possible to have such a large table, but you will definitely not be happy. It will be very slow on the table’s “Edit” screen, so that you will have trouble editing the table in WordPress directly. You would probably have to do all editing e.g. in Excel.
2. The site itself should not be affected that much, but the “Edit” screen will be, as explained in 1.
3. I don’t have an automatic solution for this, but you could use a similar idea as here: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/table-width/page/2?replies=55#post-3882265
4. Yes, pictures are no problem. You can add images easily with the “Insert image” button or by manually adding the HTML code. But for 9000 rows this will of course be some work…
So, in summary, I’d actually recommend a slightly different approach: You could create several smaller tables, e.g. one for each letter of the alphabet. These would be smaller, and it should be easier to edit them. You could then use a plugin that can create “tabs” to show those A, B, C, D, … tabs, and every tab has one table for that letter.
Regards,
Tobias
Dear Tobias,
Thank you for your quick reply, really, thank you.
1. Working in Excel would not be a problem.
2. I would rather edit in excel
3. Since I do not have ANY experiences with “coding” that would be hard for me, HEY but I could give you access to my web page and would you do that? 🙂
4. GREAT
4.1. IF everything will work fine by doing everything in excel and then just import I will rather use that way, however if might have a problem then I will come to your suggestion and ask you for more help 🙂
Tobias, I hope you’ll have great weekend so that you could rest from us 🙂
Ivan
Hi,
ok, when working in Excel is no problem, you could give this a try.
For 3. That’s not really coding. It’s more about the content of the first cell with a word that starts with a certain letter.
Best wishes,
Tobias
