• I want to set up WordPress multisite with 100 unique sites, each running on their own unique subdomain and using various different themes and plugins depending upon the experience and requirements of the people running the sites.

I estimate that all sites together will get approximately 600,000 monthly pageviews. I have taking into account that each site will be entirely new – with no current following – and allowing 200 unique pageviews per day for each site.
This of course will change quite dramatically as each site starts to build its following but for now, that should be sufficient.

I estimate that each user will have approximately 6 – 10 static pages and be making 1 blog post per day and that they will want to install approximately 10 plugins and will be using the default theme.

Can somebody please give me a ballpark estimate for the lowest amount of memory I will need on a linux CentOS 7 server.

@jaytelford The previous reply provides absolutely zero information. There are many factors to consider but truthfully I believe it to be rather minimal…a couple of GB should be sufficient. Be sure to use highly rated themes and plugins but ultimately the amount of combined traffic at any given time will play a major factor in RAM usage.

It is kind of impossible to know. One bad plugin can eat up all your resources. Not to mention that each of your site could be constantly attacked by spam/hack bots (huge traffic separate from your normal users).
