How to avoid future wordpress updates/changes that can affect website stability

    Hi guys,
    I have a stable website I wanna put online. It’s using lots of stuffs like WP e-Commerce plugin that works very fine by the way.
    What can I do to avoid safely future WordPress updates/changes/upgrades that could affect my website stability in the future? Any idea? + Is there any “link” with wordpress I may wanna cut for now?
