• I have a wordpress website. I’m not sure of the version, but it’s saying it wants to update to 3.5.1. I am changing web persons and want a backup copy of my site, just in case my web person is unhappy about it.

I have full admin privileges, I think (it says so, but who knows?).

Is there a place to look for instructions on how to do the backup?

    Thanks,

    bk

That was beyong my ability. I contacted the website host and am creating a full backup from there. Should that work?

Theoretically, maybe. But it depends on your hosting company. Generally, we recommend that people not trust a host to make backups – they have been known to screw up. Having a good regular trustworthy back-up system in place for YOUR site is important. Did you look at plugins that will do most of the work for you?

I just saw that backup buddy is installed. I suppose that’s one of those utilities you were talking about. I’ll figure out how to use it and see what happens.

    Thanks.
