how to call that function in the header.php

    I don’t think it will work in the header, because the WordPress loop might not been loaded yet.

    oh thanks Lester for such a quick reply. Hmm.. is there any other way/any hack where I can show the pagination in header file as well?

    I don’t know, you might have to Google for it. I would suggest putting it in your index.php just after get_header() is called instead so that it appears at the top.
