if not do you know how to get back to previous state? would replacing files help or is it a matter of mysql database and I am screwed ?
Change them back to default and then delete the .htaccess file should work.
I get a ‘server encoutnered an internal error and is unable to process your request” everytime I change permalinks to default and hit save changes in the admin panel.
WORKS !
What needed to be done is while the page dispalyed that internal error message I had to log on to FTP and delete .htaccess – then it was enough to reload the page and default permalinks were there.

dczepiel, I’m not sure if I’m having the same problem as you are. After I made some changes to the Permalinks option (to custom), each time I try to get into the Permalinks option page, it’s just blank. I tried to delete the .htaccess file, but not sure how it can be generated. Please help~ thanks!

im having problems with my permalinks. I edited and made a custom one and now i cant go back to edit again back to the default permalink. Cant understand why i cant??
it doesnt give me those options in the first place where there deafault/ month date/ etc/ etc/ custom.
Ever since customizing the permalink the titles/heading such as “about” “contact” have gone missing whenever i change between pages except when on the “home page”.(only the titles/ heading are missing but the pages are still there)
can someone help please!
