    Hi:

I’m getting double-counted pageviews in Google Analytics, because I have installed both your “All in One SEO” plugin and the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin from Monster Insights.

How can I turn off Google Analytics insertion in your plugin, so that I don’t continue to have my pageviews double-counted?

    My URL is: terencepfaff.com

    Thanks,
    Terence

Just remove your GA ID from AIOSEOP settings. https://semperplugins.com/documentation/setting-up-google-analytics/

I already did that. There are 2 issues associated with removing the GA ID from settings.

1.) First of all, when I remove the UA-XXXX-X GA ID and then click on update options, it automatically fills in my User ID instead. So, instead of turning GA off, this causes error messages about an improperly formed UA/GA ID.

2.) Secondly, this change is not showing up in the source code when I do CTRL-U in Google Chrome browser. Is there a caching issue with the change not showing up? Does it take some time to take affect?

    Thanks,
    Terence

    Hi Terence,

    1) What auto-fills in a User ID? And what is the User ID (WP, GA, …?)? Nothing in AIOSEOP would auto-fill anything in that field (or any other), so this sounds like your browser autopopulating the field.

    2) Any changes to the settings should show up immediately in the source code. If they don’t, it’s either browser (less likely) or server (more likely) caching, both of which are unrelated to AIOSEOP.

    Hi Michael:

1.) Wow! My Norton Security was auto-filling the UA Tracking ID field with my username whenever I would deleted the entry and click on the Update Options button. So, I fixed this part of the issue in Norton.

2.) The fix seemed to propagate very quickly, so I think the caching issue was a moot point.

    Thanks for your help!

    Terence
