Hello @lfitzhugh 👋
To be honest, I don’t understand what you are trying to achieve. 🫣 From the link you provided, I guess you are trying to setup excerpt with a “Read more” link on your category page or your top page with the default theme Twenty Twenty Five built for Gutenberg.
After digging by myself as well, it should be possible by editing the templates from the theme.
From the menu Appearance, choose Themes then click the button Customize.
Then from the theme editor click Templates from the left sidebar and you should be able to see a list of templates and to edit them. It should looks like this :

If you are lost, I created a tiny video to remember about how to do that:

If the link is still not displayed on the front-end, please upgrade to the latest version of Markup Markdown 3.20.12 and don’t forget to select “Keep blocks features” from the settings menu of Markup Markdown /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=markup-markdown-admin
Please tell me if that works for you. 🤲
@lfitzhugh I hope this message finds you well, I haven’t heard from you for a while so I’m closing this discussion. Feel free to start a new topic if need be.
Kind Regards,
Peter
