Are they going to be pages or posts?
If pages, then you can select the parent menu item from the drop down on the right when creating a page. So if you have an About menu item, you can select that as the “parent” and then that page will be listed within that menu item.
If it’s a post, you can set up sub-categories by selecting a parent category when creating a new one.
Yes but setting the “parent” property does little exept change the font if you go three layers deep! that is what i’ve been doing and as you can see, the result is a mess!
The only way to edit this would be via CSS styles. Perhaps even going into the code and replacing the text menu with drop down selects? I think in the codex there is some code for doing that, but I’m not sure where I came across it, sorry! But ya, would have to be done via stylesheets I think.
Lol i was hoping for something that didn’t require megabrainz(tm)! I’m not an expert as i should perhaps have mentioned!
I may be able to put together some CSS for you at some point during the weekend, if you don’t mind waiting! I’ll try and see what I can do for you.

You can show them as a drop down menus. There are so many plugins available.
Thats rather nice of you! But im not sure i will know how to implement it, i do know a little about css, but not that much. I have a feeling the menu system has something to do with the theme (open sourcerer), other themes have roll over menus quite like what i want, but the rest of their theme is pretty much unwanted!
@ ryan
Yes there are plugins but you have to know how to use them. I followed the install instructions for ( http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/wordpress-css-drop-down-menu/ ) but it ended up ruining the website even worse : http://margaretdrinkall.co.uk/MD/?page_id=2 : the “about the books” submenu is unreachable because of formatting problems!
If you face any issue.. let me know. I will install and set up the plugin for you.
And yes, if there is anything else can happen with the help of codings, you can go for that.
