How to enable TinyMCE?

I’m reading everywhere that tinymce comes automatically with WP. I just installed WP today. I have selected the rich text editor or whatever in my user profile. The tinymce files are, in face, on the server. Yet when I post anything, all I see is “visual” and “code”. And clicking on both of those doesn’t make any difference.
