My blog is Table for Five.

I was doing a search for my very first post, and my archives go back to September, 2005. However, I know I started my blog in October, 2005. I tried doing a search for http://table4five.net/2005/08/, and got an Error 404 page.

Before I had my own domain I was on wordpress.com, and the posts from Aug. ’05 are not showing there, either. Before that I was on Blogspot, but I deleted that blog a long time ago. Is there any way to recover those old posts?

Part two of my question then is, how long do posts stay available in archives? Am I going to lose Sept. 05’s posts at some point? If so, I want to make hard copies ASAP!

P.S. No, I was not doing hard backups of my blog way back then, because I was young and naive.

Forever. Unless you delete ’em, they stay in the database.

I’m going to move this question over to the WordPress.com forum, and see if they have any suggestions. I seem to be missing four posts from August 2005, and if there is a database where they stay forever, I want to find them!
