Hello Triptikon,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Do you have FV Player Pro or the free version?
Can you please try using a basic .mp4 video uploaded to your WP Media Library and see, if you also get the Admin JavaScript warning? https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/installation#fixing-broken-javascript
Thanks,
Maria
@foliovision version is free. I can upload the video to the site, but in general I upload all the videos to the services. Therefore, I am interested in the correct operation of your plugin.
Hello Triptikon,
in the free FV Player version the YouTube videos use the native Youtube player as you said.
We plan to move this feature out of FV Player Pro and make it part of the free plugin. Let us know if you are interested and I can send you new plugin version for test.
Thanks,
Martin
@foliovision okay, let’s say I am interested. The fact is that I want videos from all popular services to be displayed on the site in the same style. And you seem to have a wide list of support, which includes even VK and Rutube
Hello Triptikon,
please reinstall FV Player from this ZIP file and let us know if the YouTube integration works for you: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/refs/heads/4526125833-youtube-support.zip
Please note that you will need the Google API key for YouTube for reliable splash screen parsing for YouTube: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/youtube-with-fv-player#Connecting-with-Google
Thanks,
Martin
@foliovision there’s still this mistake:
It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check. Check your template’s header.php file if it contains wp_head() function call and footer.php should contain wp_footer()!
Hello Triptikon,
please let us know if the YouTube videos now play the way they should – using the FV Player interface and not YouTube player.
If you get that warning from the “Check template” function then perhaps it’s just the template check which is failing. Are you using any plugin that puts up a “Coming soon” page?
Thanks,
Martin
@foliovision the player is still the same of Youtube. No, I don’t use any “coming soon” plugins
Hello Triptikon,
please provide a test page where we can see the issue.
Thanks,
Martin
For some reason the video is showing up now. However, in the upper left corner it says “Admin: Issues”. Here is the page (video below). And the plugin does not see the video from Rutube at all – it writes “the video file not found.” Here is the page (also below).
Hello Triptikon,
thank you for confirming that the YouTube integration in free FV Player works. We will make part of the next release too.
We will fix the Video Checker to check the YouTube videos sensibly and not just show “Admin: Issues”.
We are open to adding support for VK and Rutube, but it would probably be added to FV Player Pro – the paid version.
Thanks,
Martin
