Hi people! I guess you have heard that Google has started to increase the pagerank of websites that are https only. In addition, Firefox (the Mozilla foundation) has now announced that they will begin to favor sites with https (secure encryption over SSL), too.
So I am really interested in going SSL-only with my WordPress blog. I already have a SSL certificate, it is up and running, and I have what is the usual in this case: the result is kind of a dual blog, reachable as http:// and https:// at the same time. WordPress functions happily with this. It is, however, bad for your pagerank (Google regards it as you creating duplicate content) and doesnt get you the benefits of https only.

So, anybody out there who has experience with going SSL-only with WP? As far as I know, I have to create a redirect which redirects all traffic to http over to https. Id like to do this with htaccess.

By the way, I really think WordPress should offer this by itself. There is already the option to force all logins over SSL. So all Automattic has to do is expand this option to “force everything over SSL”, and your are done.
