I have Media Library Folders installed. I FTP’d a bunch of pdf pictures to the folder. It finds the new folder but not any images (No images or folders were found.) I thought maybe it didn’t work with PDF so I uploaded some png files. Made no difference.

Also, I was expecting a button or something up there above the post, where there is the Media and other buttons as well as formation icons (bold, ital, etc)

Anyway, can someone please tell me how to get MLF to find the images, and how to insert these images into a post?

    Laurel,

The WordPress Media Library and Media Library Folders is not like the file manager on your computer that displays the contents of the disk. It displays a list of media files currently in your site’s database. Files uploaded to your site by FTP are not added to your media library. Files added through WordPress’ uploader or by Media Library Folders are processed and added to your sites media library database. When files are added, WordPress generates a number of thumbnail images as required by itself and the theme and plugins that you have installed. Thus, there are many more file of images in the Uploads folders than you actually see in WordPress.

Now with Media Library Folders you can add files that you have uploaded to a folder by using the Sync function. Also, if you create a new folder via FTP you can click the ‘Check for new folders’ option in the Media Library Folders submenu to add it to Media Library Folders. After it adds the folder, navigate to it in Media Library Folders and click the Sync the button to add its contents to the Media Library.
