Hi, i am fairly new to WordPress, however have designed websites for many years (mid 90’s).

    We have the below installed:
    WordPress v 4.9.8–en_CA
    Elementor Pro v2.0.18
OceanWP v 1.5.22 (soon to be paid)
    OceanWP Extra v1.4.20

We created a Blog page with Elementor and JetBlog v2.1.3, this works (well). However when we “click” the blog we get the nasty real basic OceanWP “post” view (text with the menu down the right).

We have spent about 5 hours trying to create a custom page, nothing seems to be working (which we feel is real odd), but then i cant find anyway in the OceanWP theme to tell if what page to use for the POST view page?

    We have tried:
Elementor > My Templates, created one, added to POSTS : ALL, this works for the “Hello World” but we still have the menu and the “Title Bar”.

In the above Elementor > My templates there doesnt seem a way to change the page template which is likely the issue with the right menu, however the title bar, ive not found anyway of disabling this.

So how do we change OceanWP to use a static page OR one from the Elementor My Templates area successfully and reliably?

    Many Thanks

Screen shot enclosed (as a web link).

When i click a POST it opens in a “post window”, how do we replace this page for one we can create in Elementor?

Hello, I’m very sorry, I still don’t understand the issue, can you create a pre-purchase ticket on oceanwp.org? I will ask you more information to see the issue in live.

I can instruct to repeat the issue:

    – WordPress > Posts > All Posts
    – Create a post with a title, text and picture
    – Go to WordPress > Posts > All Posts, find the post you just created, hover over the title then click “view”

The resulting page used to VIEW that post is the one we need to customize (with Elementor). Thats the same page clients see to view posts, we cant find how to edit it, it looks nothing like all our other pages.

Hello, you want to customize a post with Elementor?

Very sorry if I still didn’t understand, if you could create a little video of the issue, I should probably see what’s wrong because right now, I don’t understand what the issue is with the posts.

Customize the PAGE USED TO DISPLAY THE POSTS

You cant tell me the page you see when repeating the above is the ONLY PAGE we can use to view posts and how anyone viewing the site will see a post when looking at them.

Any video will just be a repeat of the step by step process explained above, the video will be unable to elaborate on this process.

    – “How do i create a custom “view posts” page”
    – How do i create a page to DISPLAY the contents of posts
    – How do i create a custom page layout used to display post data (text and images) visitors of the site see filled with the post data
    – How do i change the design of the POST DISPLAY page used to show the posts stored in Word Press

All the above are the same question worded in different ways! If this doesn’t explain it then i need a phone number as i cant believe this is not understandable as a question.

So heres a link from Elementor

    https://docs.elementor.com/article/354-creating-a-single-post-template-with-elementor-pro?source=google&medium=cpc&campaignid=1431532286&adgroupid=57771525244&keyword=&matchtype=b&adposition=1t1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2MTbBRASEiwAdYIpsVH-6SdMrQzBiogImNO6DoEgOJU_GCv_M3W3W1DTWvXFiVay-el5kxoCq9EQAvD_BwE

However this isnt fully working, i still get a HUGE GREY BAR at the top under the menu with the POST title in it, i cant seem to turn this off what ever i try in the My Templates section for that specific page….

Hello, do you mean that you want to customizer your blog page? If yes, you can do this with Elementor Pro πŸ™‚

For the title, go to the General Options > Page Title and select Hidden as Style.

Let me know if you need help.

    Hi

    If you mean the menu:
Appearance > Customize > General Options > Page Title > Visibility

The only options i have are:

    Show on all devices
    Hide on Tablet
    Hide on Mobile
    Hide on Tablet and Mobile

I cant hide on the desk!

Ah sorry, it is the customizer section, General Options > Page Title.

Please see above, i cant hide on the desktop, that’s not an option.

However i can confirm this makes that bar vanish in the tablet and mobile view, so how do i get this setting on the dekstop (full width) view?

    UPDATE

I found the “hidden” style, this fixed it, although i do seem to have 50-55 pixels of white area ABOVE the template (which is under most of the menu as we have it transparent, the menu is about 60pxels so its not only the menu as a block) that Elementor created (which is not in the template)…
