how to share private docs?

    I’ve set docs as Private so only login users can access them. But I also would like to share it and activate the share feature which show 2 options (http://prntscr.com/hnnolj):

    1 – Download Page: here, if the person with whom I share the link is not logged in he gets a 404 error (page not existent). I was expecting a notification to login. Is it possible?

    2 – Direct link: here, if the person with whom I share the link is not logged in he gets http://prntscr.com/hnnt8f. I have login redirects and the mention redirects announced aren’t effective. Is there a way to solve it?

    Do you mean hidden. Post can be set to private file can only be set to public and hidden.

    I will assume you mean hidden, and continue. A file set to hidden is only accessible by the author or contributor of the file. If you are setting on “Hide All Files: (Non Members)” this will do exactly what it says.

    You can’t have it both ways private but also accessible by a share link.

    I am looking at modifying the way file are protected but am only in the planning stage of this, but the end goal would be more like how google protects files. Using a share button.

    Actually I mean Private (http://prntscr.com/hocwld). I don’t have any file Hidden (http://prntscr.com/hocvo5).

    But maybe I’m choosing the wrong options…

    1. What I would like to do is to have files only available for logged users and for that I choose the Private feature. Would it be the right one?

    2. Still, those files I would like to be able to send a link so the one who receive it would have to login to see the file. How can I achieve that?

    Unfortunately you can’t do that currently. If you have you files set to hidden to all non logged in users then the standard message will be displayed.

    I will add it to the feature list.
